“Ho avuto sintomi influenzali per mesi. La causa? La mia borraccia”

Nel contesto dell'emergenza ecologica, molti scelgono soluzioni apparentemente sostenibili. Tuttavia, alcune di queste potrebbero non essere sicure, come racconta Karyn Wilson su TikTok, condividendo una scoperta preoccupante.

Circa 15 anni fa, Karyn iniziò a soffrire di un malessere persistente e inspiegabile. “Ho avuto sintomi influenzali per mesi. Dolori, febbre, grave affaticamento, respiro sibilante e tosse”, ha spiegato nel video. Nonostante le cure con steroidi, i sintomi non sparivano del tutto. “Ogni volta che guarivo, ricominciavo ad andare in palestra e nel giro di una settimana la malattia tornava”, racconta.

Determinata a capire l'origine del problema, Karyn analizzò la sua routine, sospettando che qualcosa nel suo stile di vita potesse essere responsabile. Sorprendentemente, la causa non era il suo allenamento, ma la borraccia di metallo che portava con sé. “L'ho cercata online e su un sito si diceva che contenesse piombo e cadmio. Ho smesso di usarla”, ha rivelato. In seguito, dopo averla accidentalmente riutilizzata durante un giro in bicicletta, i sintomi tornarono.

Non era la prima volta che Karyn faceva una scoperta del genere. Ha rivelato che qualche anno dopo una nuova padella “atossica” le causò gli stessi sintomi: “Entrambe le volte sono tornati gli stessi sintomi: ho restituito l’acquisto e richiesto il rimborso completo”.

La vicenda, divenuta virale su TikTok, ha scatenato interrogativi sulla sicurezza di alcuni prodotti presentati come "green".

I had about 6-9 months that I kept getting flulike symptoms. Achy, fever, severe fatigue and then respiratory symptoms including wheezing and coughing. Years later the same exact illness happened after buying an Original Green pan set (“non toxic ceramic pan” ). I used the pan to simmer something for hours and another time to finish cooking something in the oven. Both times the same symptoms returned. I returned the pans to Target for a full refund.
