Luke Perry sepolto con un abito di funghi: il suo ultimo desiderio

Luke era un ambientalista e sostenitore di uno stile di vita eco-sostenibile. E questa sua ferma convinzione è stata portata avanti fino al suo ultimo "viaggio". Contrariamente a quanto si era detto subito dopo la sua morte, infatti, l'attore non è stato cremato, ma è stato sepolto nella sua tenuta di Dickson, in Tennessee, senza bara e con una speciale tuta ricavata dai funghi, interamente biodegradabile.

Questa speciale tuta è composta da due diversi tipi di funghi che facilitano la decomposizione del corpo, trasformandolo in nutrienti che arricchiscono la terra.

In December I went to San Francisco with two of my best friends. One of them, had never never been to California, so we went to show him the Redwoods. I took this picture while we were there, because i thought, “damn, those mushrooms are beautiful.” Now, mushrooms hold an entirely new meaning for me. Any explanation i give will not do justice to the genius that is the mushroom burial suit, but it is essentially an eco friendly burial option via mushrooms. He was buried in this suit, one of his final wishes. They are truly a beautiful thing for this beautiful planet, and I want to share it with all of you.

A rivelare l'ultima volontà di Luke Perry è stata sua figlia Sophie, che ha dedicato un nuovo post al papà, scomparso lo scorso marzo a causa di un ictus. Sophie ha pubblicato una foto scattata a dicembre in occasione di un viaggio a San Francisco, in visita alle sequoie. La ragazza ha detto di aver pensato in quella occasione "quei funghi sono dannatamente belli", ma che ora hanno un significato ancora diverso per lei.

Così Sophie ha parlato dell'abito funebre fatto di funghi e di quanto questa idea avesse entusiasmato suo padre. "È stato sepolto in questo vestito, uno dei suoi ultimi desideri. Sono davvero una bella cosa per questo bellissimo pianeta, e voglio condividerlo con tutti voi".
