Mika, fuori il suo nuovo singolo “Modern Times”: testo e significato
Un mix di elettronica e pianoforte: tutto sul nuovo brano di Mika che anticipa l’album nel 2026
Con il suo nuovo singolo Modern Times, Mika riporta la sua musica al cuore di ciò che l’ha sempre definita: la fusione tra teatralità, vulnerabilità e stupore. Dopo anni di successi internazionali, l’artista britannico-libanese torna con una canzone che segna l’inizio di una nuova fase creativa, preludio al suo nuovo album atteso nel 2026. Il brano, scritto dallo stesso Mika e prodotto con Nick Littlemore (Empire of the Sun) e Peter Mayes (PNAU), è una riflessione intima ma esplosiva sul nostro tempo, sulla fatica di restare umani in un mondo che corre troppo.
Il video ufficiale, girato a Vienna dal regista Rupert Höller, trasforma questa visione in immagini sospese tra il reale e il simbolico. L’estetica minimale e le luci fredde raccontano un uomo che cerca equilibrio nel disordine, in una città che sembra muoversi al ritmo del suo cuore. Mika esplora la fragilità dell’essere moderno, ma lo fa con una leggerezza che non è evasione, bensì resistenza poetica.
Il significato di “Modern Times”
In Modern Times, Mika intreccia il ritmo elettronico con la delicatezza del pianoforte, creando un equilibrio tra tensione e leggerezza. È una canzone che parla di resilienza, di quella forza silenziosa che ci spinge a continuare nonostante il caos. Le sue parole non sono mai didascaliche: raccontano il mondo contemporaneo con la grazia di una favola e la precisione di una confessione.
Come riportato dalle principali testate giornalistiche Mika ha spiegato: “Per me, questa canzone è come un tapis roulant – e quel tapis roulant è la vita, in tutto il suo bene e tutto il suo male. Man mano che il tempo passa e la vita diventa più confusa e a volte travolgente, guardiamo oltre il mondo che ci circonda, verso il mondo del mito, del desiderio e dei sogni. ‘Modern Times’ è come l’eco solenne di una cattedrale, per la fede e lo spirito, che si oppone alla fatica, al peso della vita e allo scorrere del tempo”.
Due date italiane nel tour in arrivo
Prima che esca il nuovo disco, Mika porterà Modern Times sul palco con due date italiane imperdibili: il 2 marzo all’Unipol Arena di Bologna e il 4 marzo all’OGR di Torino
