La donna allatta, l'orango (che ha perso il suo cucciolo) la osserva dal vetro: il video commovente

Nello zoo di Schönbrunn a Vienna una donna, Gemma Copeland, si è fermata per allattare il suo bambino. In quel momento si trovava proprio davanti al recinto nel quale vive un orango femmina: non appena ha visto la donna prendere in braccio suo figlio, l’animale si è avvicinato e ha iniziato ad osservarla con dolcezza.

La scena è stata immortalata in un video che sta diventando virale sui social perché è tenero ma commovente al tempo stesso: quell’orango di nome Sol, infatti, ha da poco perso i suoi cuccioli che sono nati morti ed è proprio per questo che ha guardato quella madre che allatta suo figlio con così tanto amore, forse pensando ai cuccioli che invece lei purtroppo non ha potuto allattare né coccolare.

After the reaction I've had to this video of me and my son feeding with the support and protection of Sol, the female orangutan in Schonbrünn Zoo, Vienna. I have decided to use this opportunity to try to make a difference. The post and video have reached over 5million people in countries across the globe. This made me think that if I'd managed to raise just $1 per view or share I'd of raised over $5million dollars to help support and protect these animals the way Sol protected me whilst I fed my little boy. I've contacted an orangutan rescue, rehabilitation and release programme in Borneo and I am currently awaiting a response to see how to go about raising funds to help them with their project. . I feel that during my life time the only choices I've had are captivity or extinction... neither of which I like so I'm hoping that now I've been given a platform such as this I can make a difference for my little boy and others of his generation. To hopefully put a stop to the destruction of the forests and the sheer horror of poaching so that the next generations choices include the freedom of these majestic animals. . . Queste immagini colpiscono perché mostrano che in alcune situazioni, l’uomo e gli animali non sono poi così distanti, anzi, possono provare gli stessi sentimenti. Gemma ha appreso solo dopo che l’orango aveva perso i suoi cuccioli: “Ero sconvolta, è stato incredibile – ha dichiarato – sembrava volesse proteggermi. Saremo anche di due specie diverse, ma l’allattamento al seno ci ha unite oggi in un momento unico che rimarrà con me per sempre”. È stata proprio Gemma a condividere il tenero video sui social, inizialmente per sostenere la causa dell’allattamento al seno in pubblico: poi, però, si è resa conto che chi ha visto quelle immagini si è commosso come lei di fronte al comportamento di quell’orango.
