Shannen Doherty parla del cancro che avanza: "Girerò dei videomessaggi per i miei cari"

In una recente intervista rilasciata alla rivista Elle USA per il numero di ottobre, Shannen Doherty è tornata a parlare della sua malattia, che non accenna a regredire.

L'attrice, diventata famosa negli anni '90 interpretando il ruolo di Brenda Walsh nel seguitissimo teen drama Beverly Hills 90210, sta combattendo dal 2015 contro un tumore al seno, ricomparso nel 2019 e giunto ora al quarto stadio.

Durante l'intervista Shannen ha rivelato che, nonostante le cure, il tumore non accenna a rallentare. Così, consapevole della sua condizione, ha deciso di girare dei videomessaggi che i suoi cari potranno vedere quando lei non ci sarà più.

"Non mi sono ancora messa a tavolino per scrivere le lettere importanti. Ma so di doverlo fare. Ci sono cose che devo far sapere a mia madre. Voglio che mio marito sappia quello che rappresenta per me", ha detto l'attrice.

Tuttavia non è una cosa semplice: “Ogni volta che arriva il momento in cui potrei farlo mi sembra così definitivo, così irrevocabile. La verità è che mi sento ancora una persona in salute, in forze. È difficile mettere un punto alla tua esistenza quando ti senti come se potessi vivere ancora altri 10 o 15 anni. C’è ancora tanta vita in me”

Come si legge in un post pubblicato dalla rivista e ri-condiviso dalla Doherty, l'attrice fa il possibile per vedere nella sua condizione un'opportunità: "Cerco di fare tesoro di tutti i piccoli momenti che la maggior parte delle persone non vede o dà per scontati".
